Carnival By Tresind, an acclaimed restaurant from Dubai, brings its extraordinary culinary flair to Mumbai. Known for its inventive take on modern Indian cuisine, Carnival By Tresind promises to captivate your palate with a creative and theatrical dining experience. Our team at Masala! had the pleasure of exploring their newest location, and we were thoroughly impressed.
The Carnival Experience

Upon entering Carnival By Tresind, the vibrant, carnival-themed decor immediately dazzled us. The lively music set a festive mood, and the neon-lit masks worn by the bartenders added a whimsical touch. Bar Manager Rahul Kamath welcomed us with a cocktail menu that promised a sensory adventure.
We started with the “Tikitiki”, a tropical cocktail that transported us to a sunny Caribbean beach. This refreshing blend of plantation white rum, house-made cacao liqueur, pineapple, and hibiscus cordial was a citrusy delight. Next, we enjoyed the ‘Java Jamboree’, a tribute to British carnivals. This smooth concoction of Bourbon Whiskey, espresso, and carnival coffee liqueur, topped with coconut and miso foam, perfectly balanced the bitterness of espresso with sweet coconut notes.

Eagerly anticipating the main course, we moved to a private dining area where Chef Sarfaraz Ahmed greeted us. His gentle demeanor and the quirky art on the walls set the stage for an exceptional meal.
We began with the inventive Chaat Sundae, a unique fusion of yogurt ice cream, coriander, and tamarind granita that impressed us with its bold flavors. The Tandoori Portobello Steak, featuring succulent mushrooms and a live-made molcajete chimichurri chutney, was another standout.

The Duck Croquette, crumbed and fried to perfection with a tangy barbecue sauce, made for a delightful accompaniment to our cocktails. For vegetarians, the Jackfruit Cutlet was a must-try—crispy, light, and irresistibly delicious.
The showstopper of the evening was the Recado Negro, a sophisticated take on Maharashtrian Kaala Mutton. Tender mutton chunks in a spicy jalapeno thecha sauce were nothing short of spectacular. This dish is a must-try for anyone visiting Carnival By Tresind.

Our culinary journey continued with a creative twist on Vada Pav—a classic Mumbai snack reimagined with furikake lobster bonda and lehsuni yuzu kosho. While the previous mutton dish had set a high bar, this unique vada pav held its own.

Chef Ahmad also treated us to the Champaran Style Carnitas, featuring juicy braised pork shoulder with pickled onions and a variety of sauces. We enjoyed assembling our own portions, savoring each bite. The Mushroom Pot Rice with Truffle Tadka and Ram Babu Paratha—served with banana chutney—were equally memorable.
To cap off our experience, Mayank, a mentalist, performed at our table, adding a touch of carnival magic.

Desserts were the perfect finale: the Go Bananas—an upside-down banana mawa cake paired with burnt chocolate ice cream—and the Chocolate Fondant, with a gooey center, hazelnut kalakand, and vanilla ice cream, concluded our meal on a sweet note.
Carnival By Tresind in Mumbai is more than a dining experience; it’s a celebration of flavors and memories. Whether you’re a food enthusiast or simply seeking a unique outing, this new hotspot is a must-visit.
