Age is just a number for legendary South Indian actor Kamal Haasan. At 69, the actor is heading to the US to study Artificial Intelligence at a prestigious institute. According to reports, Kamal recently left for the US to begin a 90-day AI course, although due to professional commitments in India, he is expected to attend only 45 days of the program.
Known for his innovative work in Indian cinema, Kamal Haasan seems eager to incorporate AI into his future projects. In a past interview in Abu Dhabi, he expressed his fascination with technology, saying, “I have a deep interest in new technology, and you can often see my films experimenting with the latest advancements. Cinema is my life, and all my earnings go back into my films. I’m not just an actor but also a producer, reinvesting everything I earn into the industry.”
As AI continues to revolutionize the filmmaking and entertainment industries, Kamal’s decision has sparked curiosity about how he will use his newfound knowledge in his upcoming projects.
Despite the AI course, the actor will return midway to meet his work obligations, including ongoing films Thug Life, Indian 2, and Kalki 2898 AD.
In his most recent film, Indian 2, Kamal Haasan portrayed a 100-year-old action star, utilizing prosthetics to achieve the look. In the epic sci-fi Kalki 2898 AD, he played the antagonist Yaskin, a role brought to life through extensive VFX. Fans can expect him to reprise these roles in future sequels, as well as star in Shankar’s historical drama Indian 3 and Mani Ratnam’s action-packed Thug Life next year.
