The Old Man Season 2 Trailer: Dan Chase and Harold Harper Join Forces to Rescue Emily from Her Father
The highly anticipated Season 2 of The Old Man is set to premiere on September 12, and the trailer promises an action-packed, emotionally charged journey. Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow reprise their roles as Dan Chase and Harold Harper, who form an uneasy alliance to rescue Emily (Alia Shawkat) from her biological father, Belour Hamzad (Hiam Abbass).
Following the dramatic end of Season 1, where Emily learns of her connection to Hamzad and is taken by him, the new season intensifies the stakes. Dan and Harold, driven by their paternal instincts, must navigate a series of high-octane action sequences, including gunfights, high-speed chases, and tense confrontations, to save Emily.
As Emily finds herself in increasingly perilous situations, the season explores the complex dynamics of paternal love and the varied roles of father figures in her life. Alongside the thrilling action, viewers can expect deep emotional explorations of the characters’ relationships.
Season 2 also introduces new faces, including Jacqueline Antaramian as Khadija, Hamzad’s sister, and Gbenga Akinnagbe as Julian Carson, a special operations contractor. Amy Brenneman returns as Zoe McDonald, Chase’s unexpected ally.
The critically acclaimed series, based on Thomas Perry’s bestselling novel, has already garnered two Emmy nominations for its first season. Created by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine, the show is produced by 20th Television and The Littlefield Company.
