Varun Dhawan, born on April 24, 1987, in Mumbai, is the son of renowned film director David Dhawan and Karuna Dhawan. Raised in a Punjabi Hindu family, Varun has an elder brother, Rohit Dhawan, a film director known for “Desi Boyz.” His uncle, Anil Dhawan, is also an actor. Varun completed his Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) at H.R. College of Commerce and Economics and went on to earn a degree in business studies from Nottingham Trent University in the UK. Before embarking on his acting career, he gained valuable experience working as an assistant director to Karan Johar on the film “My Name Is Khan” (2010).

Varun Dhawan made his acting debut in 2012 with Karan Johar’s teen drama “Student of the Year,” alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt. His career quickly took off with successful films such as “Main Tera Hero” (2014) and “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania” (2014), both directed by Shashank Khaitan.
